Why is fitness so important to our overall health?

Traditional wellness involves a healthy and balanced blend between mind, body, and spirit.  Fitness involves
one of the main anchors with the physical or body part of wellness.  Not only is achieving fitness itself important,
but, managing and monitoring fitness, even if you are not an optimal shape is important too.  Why is fitness so
important to our overall health?
The goal is not to sculpt a perfect body.  The goal is to monitor and manage your body and its associated state
for optimal health.  This is true for whatever kind of shape your body has.

To begin with, you must first determine where you were starting from; where you want to go; and how you want to
get there.  The scientific connection between fitness and overall health wellness is with Data Point Theory.   Why
is fitness so important to our overall health? One answer is Data Points.


You may think of Data Point Theory this way.  If you were able to somehow monitor everything you did and
everything you felt every day and assigned a value to each thing, that would be a data point.  In other words, if you
could assign a value about how you felt about every activity you engaged in, from morning to night, you would
soon develop a kind of emotional diary.  The values could be simple like: good; bad; or indifferent.  The activities
would encompass everything you did that day from eating and watching TV to working or driving.  These good,
bad, or indifferent feelings about everything you did would be your Data Points.

Although this is a very simple example, Data Point Theory works the same way.  It assigns mathematical values
to what you think about what you do and how you feel.  It then uses formulas and statistical analysis to make
conclusions about what you do and how you feel.  Over time and with enough data points it can build a personal
profile about your overall health and fitness.  Finally this profile can then be used to make predictions about your
health and fitness.  Once you see the predictions, you can make changes, if necessary, to prevent any bad
consequences or encourage good ones.
